Won a world class raiseboring works at PT. Freeport Indonesia Company. The scope is to construct four (4) raisebored holes for Orepasses (#8, #9, #10, #11) with the dimension of 4.14 m in diameter to a depth of 620 meter per one orepass. The jobsite is situated at an elevation of over 4,000 meter above sea level. The total length (depth) of the four orepasses constructed is over 2,500 meter. The raiseborer used for the project is the most powerful machine in the world.
It required forty two (42) containers to mobilize the complete machine and its supporting auxiliaries. The work involved more than 80 (eighty) expatriates from South Africa. It is executed in three shifts (24 hours) and seven (7) days a week schedule. All the four orepasses were completed earlier than scheduled. Our jobsite was then nominated as the Best Jobsite at PTFI and has become the sample for other underground contractors. The project was executed in 1994 until late 1997.
